Michael C. Linn — Executive Chairman
Michael C. Linn is the Executive Chairman of LINN Energy, LLC (Nasdaq: LINE), which he founded in 2003. The Company became the first publicly traded E&P partnership in 2006. LINN Energy’s mission is to acquire, develop and maximize cash flow from a growing portfolio of long-life oil and natural gas assets. The company’s core areas of operation are the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma, Permian Basin and Los Angeles Basin.

Mr. Linn serves on the National Petroleum Council, American Exploration and Production Council and Board of America’s Natural Gas Alliance. He also serves on the Board and is past Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Association of America. He is a Texas Representative for the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Committee of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. He previously served as Chairman of the National Gas Council, Director of the Natural Gas Supply Association, and President of the Independent Oil and Gas Associations of New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Mr. Linn regularly represents the oil and natural gas industry before state and federal agencies, the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate and media. He has also published numerous articles in oil and natural gas trade publications and newspapers.

His civic affiliations include serving on the boards of the Texas Heart Institute, Museum of Fine Arts Houston and Houston Police Foundation. In addition, he serves on the Board of Trustees and is the Chairman of the Corporate Committee for Texas Children’s Hospital. He also serves on the advisory boards of the University of Houston Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship and Houston Children’s Charity, which recently honored him for his philanthropic works.

Mr. Linn was President of Allegheny Interests, Inc., a private oil and natural gas investment company, from 2000 to 2003. Previously, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Exploration Corporation, a private oil and natural gas company with operations in both the Appalachian and Permian Basins, until its sale in 1999.

Mr. Linn graduated cum laude from Villanova University in 1974 with a BA in Political Science. Subsequent to completing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Linn entered the University of Baltimore School of Law and graduated cum laude in 1977. Following graduation, he practiced law for the law firm of Ecker, Ecker, Zofer and Rome until 1980, when he joined Meridian Exploration as General Counsel.

 
Mark E. Ellis — President and Chief Executive Officer
Mark E. Ellis is the President and Chief Executive Officer of LINN Energy, LLC. LINN Energy’s mission is to acquire, develop and maximize cash flow from a growing portfolio of long-life oil and natural gas assets. The company’s core areas of operation are the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma, Permian Basin and Los Angeles Basin.

Mr. Ellis has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry. He joined LINN Energy in December 2006 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer in December 2007 and his current role in January 2010. Before joining LINN, Mr. Ellis served as President of the Lower 48 for ConocoPhillips. Prior to joining ConocoPhillips, he served as Senior Vice President of North American Production for Burlington Resources. Mr. Ellis joined Burlington Resources in 1985 and also held the positions of President of Burlington Resources Canada Ltd. in Calgary, Vice President and Chief Engineer, Vice President of the San Juan Division, and Manager of Acquisitions. He began his career at The Superior Oil Company, where he served in several engineering positions in the onshore and offshore divisions.

Mr. Ellis holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He serves on the Board of The Center for Hearing and Speech in Houston, Houston Museum of Natural Science, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Industry Board of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University and the Visiting Committee of Petroleum Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. He is also a past board member of the New Mexico Oil & Gas Association and previously served on the Board of Governors of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and Foundation Board of the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Mark E. Ellis
 
Kolja Rockov — Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Before joining LINN Energy, LLC in March 2005, Mr. Rockov served as Managing Director and Head of U.S. Exploration and Production for RBC Capital Markets’ energy group in Houston. With his extensive background as an energy investment banker for over twelve years, Mr. Rockov identified LINN Energy as an excellent candidate for the first IPO of a limited liability company in the exploration and production sector. In his role at LINN, Mr. Rockov oversees all finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, financial reporting, business development, financings and investor relations. He also plays a key role in sourcing and evaluating potential acquisitions. Mr. Rockov is the primary corporate contact with bankers, lenders and private capital providers to obtain new sources of capital to finance growth and execute the Company’s hedging activities. Prior to September 2000, Mr. Rockov held various senior positions with Dain Rauscher Wessels and Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, Inc., predecessors of RBC Capital Markets. He received a BBA in finance and economics from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Rockov is a member of the Board of Small Steps Nurturing Center in Houston.

David B. Rottino — Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer
In June 2008, Mr. Rottino began as LINN Energy’s Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. His responsibilities include the Company’s accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax and internal control functions. Mr. Rottino’s career includes over 15 years of oil and gas accounting experience. Before joining the Company, Mr. Rottino was the Vice President and E&P Controller for El Paso Corporation. Also, he was previously Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Canadian division of Burlington Resources, as well as Burlington Resources’ Director of Financial Analysis and Corporate Accounting. Following Burlington’s merger with ConocoPhillips, he served as ConocoPhillips’ Assistant Controller. Mr. Rottino is a Certified Public Accountant. He received his BBA at Texas Tech University and his MBA at Texas Christian University.
 

Charlene A. Ripley — Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Charlene A. Ripley is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for LINN Energy, LLC. Prior to joining LINN Energy in April 2007, she served as Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Ms. Ripley joined Norcen Energy Resources Limited, a predecessor to Anadarko Canada Corporation, in 1997 and assumed the role of chief legal officer for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in November 2003. Ms. Ripley was in-house counsel for Amoco Canada Petroleum Company Ltd. from 1990 to 1997. Previously, she was an attorney for a law firm based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Ms. Ripley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, from the University of Alberta. She earned her Law Degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is a member of the Texas State Bar, Law Society of Alberta, Canadian Bar Association, the Executive Women’s Partnership of the Greater Houston Partnership, The United Way of Greater Houston Women’s Initiative, and the Women’s Energy Network. She serves on the board of the Texas General Counsel Forum and is the past President of The Woodlands Bar Association, which she helped found. Ms. Ripley serves on several non-profit and advisory boards including the Impact Youth Development Center and the American Heart Association of Houston. She is also the past Chair and currently serves on the Houston Mayor’s International Affairs and Development Council/Canada advisory board. She is a frequent speaker at legal conferences on the topic of legal department management.

 
Arden L. Walker, Jr. – Senior Vice President – Operations and Chief Engineer
Mr. Walker joined the Company in February 2007 to oversee its Western operations, which, at that time, included California, Oklahoma and Texas, and he is currently responsible for oversight of the Company’s operations in all regions.  In addition, Mr. Walker serves in the capacity of chief engineer for the Company and is responsible for the Company’s reserve review and booking processes. From April 2006 until he joined the Company in February 2007, Mr. Walker served as Asset Development Manager, San Juan Business Unit for ConocoPhillips Company.  From June 2004 to April 2006, Mr. Walker served as General Manager, Asset Development in San Juan Division for Burlington Resources. From January 2002 until June 2004, Mr. Walker served as Business Development Manager in San Juan Division for Burlington Resources.  Mr. Walker began his career with El Paso Exploration Company in 1982 and has served in a broad range of engineering, business development and management positions with Burlington Resources since that time.  Mr. Walker is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Independent Petroleum Association of America and California Independent Petroleum Association.
